Power Diary name is becoming Zanda. Here's everything you need to know.

We know there are some specific questions related to our name changing from Power Diary to Zanda, so we thought we’d answer them here…

Why is Power Diary changing its name to Zanda?

  • Answer: Power Diary is rebranding to Zanda to better represent our evolution from a calendar tool to a comprehensive practice management platform. This change reflects the broad range of features we now offer to support health practitioners in all aspects of managing a practice. The name “Power Diary” no longer captures the full picture of what we offer.

Is the ownership or management of Power Diary changing?

  • Answer: No, the ownership and management remain the same with the transition to Zanda. There are no changes to our team - aside from our usual recruiting. This rebrand is simply a name change to better align with our mission and values, with the same team committed to supporting you and your practice.

Will Zanda have all the features I currently use in Power Diary?

  • Answer: Yes, all the features you rely on in Power Diary will remain available in Zanda. The software itself isn’t changing—only the name and branding are. You’ll still have access to all the functionality you know and love, and we’ll continue adding new tools and features to further enhance your practice management experience.

What does “Zanda” mean, and why was this name chosen?

  • Answer: Zanda is a unique name inspired by rhythm and movement, embodying energy and flow. We also drew from the concepts of “zing” (vitality) and “buzz” (efficiency), both of which capture our goal to help health practitioners streamline their busy work. We also like that Zanda encapsulates everything from “A” to “Z” “AND” back again. A team of naming experts worked with us to find a name that truly represents our mission.

What changes should I expect to see in the app?

  • Answer: While the app’s functionality remains unchanged, you’ll notice the new Zanda branding, logo, color palette, and mascot, “Bizzy.” This rollout will begin from November 21, 2024, with more elements introduced gradually, including the new app URL, planned for around December 29 (when usage is typically low). We'll keep you updated as we have more precise information to ensure minimum disruption.

Why are you working on this when I’d rather you worked on something else?

  • Answer: We have specialized teams dedicated to different projects based on their skillsets. Most of the work on the renaming project was done by external agencies, with only minimal user interface (UI) updates handled internally. Rest assured, this hasn’t taken resources away from other projects—our development teams continue to focus on new features and improvements, as well as security and reliability.

Will my login details or access methods change?

  • Answer: No, your login details and access methods will continue to work. Although our branding is changing to Zanda, you’ll continue to log in with your existing credentials, ensuring a smooth transition.

    Once the app URL is updated (planned around December 29, 2024), we will recommend updating your bookmarks or links you use regularly for the fastest access - although redirects will be in place so there is no urgency for this.

Will there be any disruption to my practice management during the transition to Zanda?

  • Answer: We’ve planned the transition to ensure minimal disruption. Key changes, like the change to the app URL and new branding, will roll out in phases with redirects and notifications in place to ensure continuity. We expect a brief period of downtime around December 29th, but will update you about precise timings closer to the date. 

Will the website URL change, and what should I do about it?

  • Answer: Yes, our website URL will change to zandahealth.com on November 21, 2024, and the app URL will update on December 29, 2024. Redirects will be in place, so you can continue to use any existing links, but we will recommend updating any bookmarks or links you use regularly for the fastest access.

Will I need to change my practice Client Portal URL? 

  • As with all the other links, redirects will be in place, so you can continue to use your existing client portal URL, but we will recommend updating it for the fastest access.

Will this transition affect my data or practice information?

  • Answer: No, all your data and practice information remain secure and unaffected by the name change. Zanda will continue to hold and protect your data with the same high standards you’ve come to expect.

What is Bizzy, and how does he fit into the Zanda brand?

  • Answer: Bizzy is the new Zanda mascot—a friendly bee that symbolizes our focus on efficiency and support. Bizzy embodies our commitment to helping you “buzz” through the busy work of practice management, making your experience more streamlined and enjoyable.

Will this transition change the Zanda mission or focus?

  • Answer: Our mission remains the same: to make health practice management easy and enjoyable, allowing you to focus on delivering excellent patient care. The Zanda brand emphasizes our commitment to innovative solutions that adapt to your evolving needs.

Could this work cause issues like errors or slowness?

  • Answer: The majority of these updates involve simple color and logo changes, which won’t affect system performance. For the domain change, we’ve scheduled it during the quietest period of the year, when fewer customers are active. We’ll thoroughly review and test everything beforehand, with engineers on standby to address any issues that may arise despite our checks.

Does this mean I’ll have to update my own policies, agreements, and other things? 

  • Answer: Depending on your situation, there may be some items that will need to be updated. As best as we can, we will provide resources to help with these and make the transition as smooth as possible. Please remember that the company entity behind Power Diary / Zanda is not changing - only the name.

What if I don’t like the new colors?

  • Answer: We know color changes can be an adjustment, and preferences are subjective—what one person loves, another might not. Our new color palette has been thoughtfully chosen and tested to meet best practices, and we believe it will enhance the experience for most of our customers. If it doesn’t feel right at first, give it a little time—it might just grow on you! :)

Is this name change specifically to cater to the US market?

  • Answer: While we are expanding into new markets, the decision to change our name wasn’t made to cater to any specific region. “Power Diary” no longer reflects the full capabilities of our platform, which has grown far beyond a calendar or diary. We wanted a name that better represents what we offer now and what we aim to be in the future. Our mission remains the same: to make practice management easier and more enjoyable for health practitioners everywhere.
