The CMS-1500 form is a standardized document used by the US healthcare providers to submit claims for medical services and supplies. This form, developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), ensures that providers can efficiently and accurately bill for services rendered to patients covered by Medicare and other health insurance programs. Accessing an Invoice Edit Page
While this feature is in the BETA stage, you can create the CMS-1500 and claiming form from an invoice edit page.
There are a few ways to open the invoice edit page.
Option 1: from an appointment panel.
1. Open the appointment panel and click the 'Edit Invoice' pencil icon on the invoice panel.
2. The invoice edit page will open. Click 'Create Claim' button at the top right.
Option 2: from the appointment context menu:
1. Right-click the appointment block on the calendar screen.
2. The appointment contact menu will open.
3. Click 'Edit Invoice'
Option 3: using the Quick Search bar:
1. Click the Quick Search bar and select 'Invoices'
2. Enter the information you have at hand to locate the invoice. It can be the invoice number, or some of the client details (e.g. name, email address).
3. Select the invoice to open its edit page.
Option 4: From the client profile:
1. Open the client's profile.
2. Navigate to the Billing > Invoices section.
4. Locate the invoice and click the invoice date, or Actions gear icon > Edit.
5. The invoice edit page will open.
Generating a CMS-1500 form.
Once you opened the invoice edit page, and made sure all the relevant information is displaying correctly,
1. Click the 'Create Claim' button at the top-right.
2. The claim page will open.Complete the fields and check the information included in the claim, as advised here.
3. Click 'CMS-1500' button at the top-right of the claim page.
4. The PDF file of CMS-1500 will be generated.
5. Print or download the file.
